What emerges when we re-frame what it means to learn, educate, and be educated?
We learn the art, science, and wisdom of mentoring our children on their unique journeys in learning and life. Children discover how to learn well as natural scholars embedded in life. They playfully and naturally weave academic subjects and skills with an emerging understanding of traditional wisdom, creative intelligence, and learning rooted in cultivating consciousness.
Educational design is a personal, mentored program for parents and educators that uses a flexible design framework. Together we co-create personalized educational plans with our children that integrate their passions and talents with family, community, and the natural world. The result is an education that is more than just academically rigorous. Children emerge into their communities and the world as fully realized individuals who care for themselves, others, and the earth.
The only ethical solution is to take responsibility for ourselves, families, communities, and the earth by helping children learn how to integrate such values into their life’s passions to become solutions-based thinkers who can solve the problems of tomorrow. Taking responsibility in learning and life begins within and spirals out to the world around us. It means valuing each individual, recognizing intrinsic worth, and trusting that we each can find and forge our own path, in our own time, and in our own way.
